Gus's Bar advertised briefly in the GPU News from mid-1973 into early 1974, repeating the same ad for all but two issues. But after this brief time, no further mention of the bar can be found in Wisconsin LGBT publications.

However the Spartacus American Bicentennial Gay Guide (1976) did list the bar. Whether it was still open at that time is uncertain however, as nationally published "gay guides" were typically not up to date with many listings.
