The History Display at PrideFest 2003 was the first put on by the new Milwaukee LGBT History Project. Located in a tent just north of the main entrance, its primary focus was Jerry Johnson's traditional display of memorabilia. But the Project was able to display its principal achievement from its first 18 months of existence: excerpts from 5 Oral History interviews conducted with community leaders. The two focus areas of the display were thus:

  • Oral History displays: we displayed summaries from several Oral Histories completed with notable members of the community's forming years: included were summaries of interviews with Susan Cook, Shirley Fitzpatrick, Si Smits and Karen Snider.
Read those Oral Histories at this link.

  • Display of Movie Posters, many of an LGBT theme, culled from Jerry Johnson's personal collection.
