According to the Pilot Issue: "...the need for a women's newspaper is critical. Feminist Voices is the product of a working group dedicated to providing women with a forum by which they can express their ideas and develop the unity fundamental to intellectual, spiritual and physical emancipation. Project founders were drawn together in the belief that women's voices are not adequately heard, even by other women. Our purpose is to fill the void..."
