Masquers opened in December 1989 by 'David and Dan', whose previous bar, the R-Bar, had been destroyed by fire in August 1989. They held a Grand Opening late in February 1990.

The bar was rather short lived however. They went out of business around September 1991. The bar was taken over by Ann Brunow who reopened it as The Mad Hatter, in October 1991.

More information about this business is welcomed from anyone who can contribute it.
